In a catheter balloon comprising a catheter having a balloon at the tip thereof, a part or whole of the balloon comprises a membrane that is composed of a medicament- carrying material that can release the medicament gradually, and/or the medicament solution is contained within the balloon and the balloon membrane has a plurality of pores for releasing the medicament gradually. Such a catheter balloon is useful for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as thrombosis, blood vessel stenosis and obstruction accompanying atherosclerosis, and minimizes the risk of accompanying the cure with additional damage to the blood vessel into which it is inserted.
