- 32 - A B S T R A C T "THERAPEUTICALLY USEFUL BENZYLIDENE DERIVATIVES" Benzylidene derivatives of the general formula: Image wherein n is an integer from 1 to 12, R represents an amino or hydroxy radical, or a group -OM in which M is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, and X1, X2 and X3 each represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, the methoxy radical or a straight- or branched-chain alkyl radical ccntaining from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, are new compounds possessing useful pharmacological properties; they are, more particularly, useful in the treatment of various diseases of the central nervous system. The benzylidene derivatives are prepared by reacting a corresponding ketone compound in which the group linking the two phenyl radicals is ?=O with an amino compound H2N-(CH2)n-CO-R, wherein n and R are as defined above.
