PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention a trait à un procédé de préparation d'anhydrides d'acides carboxyliques par carbonylation. Selon ce présent, on fait réagir du monoxyde de carbone sur un ester carboxylique, en phase liquide, en milieu sensiblement anhydre, en présence d'une quantité efficace de nickel, d'au moins un iodure d'alkyle ou d'acyle, d'un solvant choisi parmi les amides d'acides carboxyliques et d'au moins un sel alcalin ou alcalino-terreux. Ce procédé convient notamment à la préparation d'anhydride acétique par carbonylation de l'acétate de méthyle.
