MULTIFUNCTION NETWORK Abstract An integrated circuit, multifunction network is disposed on a single chip board which has connector terminals for connection through a mating connector to a plurality of bidirectional buses and to a plurality of sources of unvarying mode selection signals. The network comprises a plurality of input gates, there being an input gate associated with each bus for receiving signals therefrom through the terminals. There is a similar plurality of output gates, an output gate being associated with each bus for applying signals thereto through the terminals. A circuit is selectively programmable to operate in a selected one of a plurality of modes, this circuit being connected between the input gates means and said output gates. A mode decoder is connected to the terminals and responsive to the mode selection signals for applying a selected one of a plurality of mode signals to the circuit to control its mode of operation. In this manner the mode of operation of the circuit can be determined by the sources of the mode selection signals connected to the mating connector to which the chip board is connected.
