Abstract The invention provides 2-pyrasolylmethyl-oxiranes of the general formula IIa Image IIa in which R represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, optionally substit- uted phenyl, optionally substituted phenylalkyl, optionally sub- stituted phenylalkenyl, optionally substituted phenylalkinyl, naphthyl or optionally substituted cycloalkyl. The compounds of formula IIa are useful as intermediates in the preparation of 1-azolyl-3-pyra- zolyl-2-propanol derivatives, which have fungicidal activity.
