ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A helicopter rotor system in which a plurality of rotor blades are attached to the rotor mast. Each blade has a spar formed of fibers bundled and bonded together inside a skin. These fibers are divided into two bundles, each of which has a bight with a bend and two arms that double back into the spar. The bights are joined to the mast by spaced-apart attachments. The attachments may be plate-like, and can be shaped to pro- vide initial coning and camber angles.
