ABREGE L'invention concerne une cage finisseuse semi-universelle pour le laminage universel des rails, et autres profilés métalliques analogues, comprenant un galet vertical de laminage et deux cylindres horizontaux tourillonnés à leurs extrémités dans des colonnes-support et comportant dans leur région médiane une roue de laminage munie d'une cannelure finisseuse. La cage selon l'invention est caractérisée en ce qu'elle présente, entre les cylindres horizontaux et du côté opposé au galet vertical par rapport aux roues de laminage, un espace délimité latéralement par les flancs des roues de laminage qui sont disposés non en regard du galet vertical, et par la colonne située en regard desdits flancs, cet espace étant, au moins temporairement, de dimension suffisante pour permet- tre le libre passage de l'ébauche du rail au cours du laminage.
