Abstract A heating installation comprises a heat pump, radiators having valves, and a control device (18). A desired value generator (45) for the upstream temperature delivers as an effective desired value (T'vs) a desired value (Tvs) guided by a guide parameter such as the external temperature (Ta) and/or reference room temperature (Ti). The control device (18) comprises a comparator (47) which compares the guided desired value (Tvs) with a variable limiting value (G) higher than the downstream temperature (Tr) by a predetermined temperature difference (.DELTA.T). The desired value generator (45) reduces the effective desired value (T'vs) at least down to the variable limiting value (G) when the latter is exceeded by the guided desired value (Tvs). In this way, the condenser temperature of the heat pump is kept low. Fig. 2.
