ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vaccine comprising a suspension in sterile isotonic solution containing: (1) inactivated bacteria originating from cultures of from 8 to 14 uropathogenic strains isolated from the urine of a person suffering from an infection of the urinary tract, including Escherichia, Klebsiella, Proteus, and Streptococcus strains, in an amount of between 50 million to 500 million germs/ ml, the Escherichia strains predominating, and (2) colloidal aluminum phosphate in an amount of 1.5 to 10 mg AlPO4 per ml. These vaccines are useful in treat- ing urinary tract infections, and have minimal harmful effects on intestinal bacterial flora.
