ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a pneumatic radial ply tire for heavy duty vehicle such as truck, bus, etc., having an improved reinforcing structure for bead portion. The tire com- prises a carcass ply of a radial or semi-radial arrangement; a metallic cord reinforcing layer disposed at the axially outside of the turned up portion of the carcass ply; an inside reinforc- ing layer composed of fiber cords and disposed along the inside of the main portion of the carcass ply; and an outside reinforc- ing layer composed of fiber cords and arranged along the outside of the metallic cord reinforcing layer and the turned up portion. The above components satisfy the below equations: (0.5H1>h2>0.9h1), (h2>h4), (3.0h1>h3>1.3h1), (3.0h1>h3'>0.5h1), and (h3'>h4) where h1: height of the outer of the turned up por- tion; h2: height of the outer end of the metallic cord reinforc- ing layer; h3: height of the outer end of the outside reinforcing layer; h3': height of the outer end of the inside reinforcing layer and h4: height of the outer end of the turned up portion of the metallic relnforcing layer.
