RAIL JOINT CONSTRUCTION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The adjacent ends of railroad rails are provided with a junction therebetween which is situated at an obli- que angle inclined from the transverse axis of the rails and the upper surface of the acute and oblique angles of the adjacent rail ends facing towards the centre of the track are ground down slightly to avoid wheel shock which may break off the angulated distal ends. The angulation of the rail joint together with the grinding off of the upper surface permits transfer of the train wheels with much reduced noise, shock and strain on the rails, the rail bed, and the rolling stock components such as wheels, bearings, axles, undercarriage members and the like.
