ABSTRACT A procedure for the immobilization of proteins on polystyrene surfaces which includes a pre-treatment of the polystyrene surface with a bis-diazonium compound of the general formula I where Image R1 stands for a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or a nitro group and where R2 stands for a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group and where X stands for an anion and the subsequent adsorption of the protein on the surface pretreated. Proteins immobilized by this procedure may be used in immunoassays.
