POLYOXYALKYLENES CONTAINING ALKALINE CATALYST RESIDUES CHELATED WITH BENZOIC ACID DERIVATIVES Abstract of the Disclosure The oxidation promoting harmful effects of the presence of an alkaline catalyst in a polyoxyalkylene can be eliminated and the product made more resistant to oxidation especially at elevated temperatures by the incorporation therein of soluble salts of certain benzoic acid deriva- tives. The soluble salts can be formed by reaction with the alkali or alkaline earth metal ion derived from the alkaline catalyst utilized in the polymerization of the polyoxy- alkylene.
