ABSTRACT A blowing agent which is a mixture of ethanol and di- butylphthalate, the molar ratio of ethanol to dibutylphtha- late being in the range of from about 1.5 to about 4. This blowing agent is useful in the preparation of a polymeric foam derived from an organic polyisocyanate compound and a compound having more than one active hydrogen, for example a polyhydroxy compound.
