The invention relates to compounds of the formula I Image ( I) in which R1 represents methyl or CH2-OR2, R2 represents hydrogen, a protective group customary in carbohydrate chemistry, or a mono-, di- or trisaccharide, A represents a hydroxy amino acid, X represents hydrogen, halogen, N3 or (subst.)amino, Y represents hydrogen, a urethane protective group or an amino acid or a peptide, W represents hydroxyl, a carboxyl protective group or an amino acid or a peptide, or Y and W together with A re- present a cyclopeptide. These compounds contain a maximum of 20 amino acids. A process for the preparation thereof, and the use thereof, are also described.
