ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE An apparatus for heating liquid fuel for an internal combustion engine has a heat exchanger equipped with a fileter for removing vapors generated during the heating of the fuel in the heat exchanger. The controller has a finger movable into a passage with a temperature responsive actuator. The hot fuel from the heat exchanger heats the temperature responsive actuator to control the flow of heating fluid to the heat exchanger.
