ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE For recording digital data on a recording medium, an identification code for indicating that the digital data is a series of recording data and an error check code for error checking of digital data forming a block are added for each block of the data. The identification code is inherently contained in the error check code to suppress an increase of redundancy.
