ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The process of preparing tertiary amine by the condensation of d mono- or di-tertiary amine and a mono- or di-iodaryl compound. Conduct- ing the condensation reaction in the presence of potassium hydroxide, and a copper catalyst, either in the absence of a solvent or with an inert saturated hydrocarbon solvent, in an inert atmosphere at a temperature between from about 120° C to about 190°C for a period of time sufficient to at least substantially complete the reaction.
