STEPPED PLENUM SYSTEM ABSTRACT A stepped plenum system (10) is provided for distributing particulate laden gas to a plurality of filter bags in a baghouse under substantially equal flow rate and pressure conditions. The stepped plenum system (10) includes an inlet conduit (24) and a plurality of outlet conduits (12-20). Gas is inserted into inlet cross-sectional area (28) of inlet conduit (24) and is directed to outlet conduits (12 and 14) through a stepped pattern design. The first outlet conduit (such as 12) is in fluid communication with the inlet conduit (241 and the second outlet conduit (14)is further in fluid commu- nication with the inlet conduit (24).
