Abstract A light-sensitive polycondensation product is described which comprises recurring units of an aromatic diazonium salt A-N2X which is capable of condensation with formaldehyde and of an oligomeric pre- condensation product Q which has been prepared by condensing a compound R"-M-R", wherein R" is a group of one of the formulae -CH2OH, -C(OH)(CH3)2, -CH2O(CH2)nCH3, -CH2OCOCH3 -CH2C1 and-CH2Br n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 3, and H is a radical of an aromatic hydrocarbon, of a phenol ether, an aromatic thioether, an aromatic sulfone, an aromatic amine. an aromatic ketone or diketone. The polycondensation product is used as the 1ight-sensitive ingredient of a 1ight-sensitive reproduction material, particularly for the manufacture of printing plates. The material obtained thereby has an increased light- sensitivity.
