Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention provides novel tetrazole derivatives useful as excitatory amino acid receptor antagonists and in treating a variety of associated nervous system disorders. The novel tetrazole derivatives are compounds of the formula Image I wherein: R1 is -?OR3, -?N(R4)2, Image , Image or Image ; R2 is hydrogen or C1-C3 alkyl; n is 0, 1, 2 or 3; m is 0 or 1; provided that the sum of m and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3; R3 is hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, phenyl or an oral ester forming group; Y is -CH=; and each R4 is independently hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl or phenyl; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
