-1- Abstract: A portable emergency communiction device has a radio transmitter, a switch and a battery in a waterproof casing. A permanent magnet removably inserted into a slot in the casing provides a magnetic field acting on the switch. By disengaging the magnet from the casing an emergency signal can be radiated from an antenna. The device is preferably worn by the user as a pendant or a wrist attachment, in which case the necklace portion or the wrist band serves as the antenna. The device is useful for advising of a medical emergency.
