An apparatus for producing a photograph integrated with a postage image on a postal meter strip includes a keypad, character display, currency receiving device, and coin dispenser, a central processor triggered by the keypad, a video camera lens with a controller board positioned and disposed to view and receive a video impression of the user, and a printer connected to the central processor, wherein the video impression received by the video camera lens is converted into a series of electrical impulses and thereafter captured and digitized for combining with a stored postage meter image representing a value of postage, the combined digitized signals of the video impression and postage meter image being transmitted to the thermal printer to produce a printed picture on one side of a paper postage meter strip.
