An inlet and outlet bung (9) and an air inlet and air release bung (10)are placed so as to be protected in recesses (11, 12) of the cover (4) of the bung barrel. The stacking surface (8) of the cover (4) passes over into two flanges (17, 18) extending in peripheral direction and enclosing the base surface of the recess (11) for the inlet and outlet bung (9), extending with a slight drop from the stacking surface (8) to the base surface of the recess (11) and forming runoff channels (21, 22) for the residual liquid (24) accumulating on the inside (27) of the cover (4), running off through the bunghole (15) of the inlet and outlet bung (9) when the top part (1') of the bung barrel is slightly tilted.
