The invention provides the use of Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) diesel fuel as a blend component together with at least a crude oil derived diesel fuel, for producing a diesel fuel composition which, when combusted in an engine, has reduced NOx and soot emissions. The invention further provides a diesel fuel composition and a method of reducing NOx and soot emissions from a CI engine.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation de carburant diesel GTL (obtenus par conversion du gaz naturel en carburant liquide) comme composant de mélange conjointement avec du carburant diesel dérivé de pétrole brut, pour obtenir une composition de carburant diesel qui, lorsqu'elle brûle dans le moteur, émet moins d'oxydes d'azote (Nox) et de suies. Par ailleurs, l'invention concerne une composition de carburant diesel ainsi qu'un procédé de réduction des émissions de Nox et de suies d'un moteur CI.
