An inflatable implant (13) for use in human breast reconstruction includes a chamber which is defined by a flexible membrane (15). The implant also includes a valve (17) and a flexible filling tube (29) which passes through the valve and into the chamber. The valve comprises a short semi-rigid tube (18) that surrounds an opening in the membrane and extends inwardly of the membrane and into the chamber. The semi-rigid tube defines a passageway extending therethrough and also defines a relatively small reservoir (R) which opens into the passageway. A filling tube (27) comprises a soft and flexible length of tubing and a solid portion (28) has an outer diameter which is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the semi-rigid tube and is stretchable longitudinally to reduce its outer diameter to facilitate passage through the semi-rigid tube. The solid portion is adapted to sealingly engage the semi-rigid tube upon relaxation thereof.
Un implant gonflable (13) destiné à la reconstruction du sein comprend une chambre définie par une membrane flexible (15), ainsi qu'une valve (17) et un tube de remplissage flexible (29), qui traverse la valve et pénètre dans la chambre. La valve comprend un tube semi-rigide court (18), qui entoure un orifice pratiqué dans la membrane, s'étend vers l'intérieur de celle-ci et pénètre dans la chambre. Le tube semi-rigide définit un passage le traversant, ainsi qu'un réservoir relativement petit (R) qui s'ouvre dans le passage. Le diamètre externe du tube de remplissage est légèrement supérieur au diamètre interne du tube semi-rigide on peut allonger longitudinalement ledit tube pour diminuer son diamètre externe, de façon à faciliter son passage à travers le tube semi-rigide. La partie solide est configurée de façon à fermer hermétiquement le tube semi-rigide après relaxation du tube de remplissage.
