An apparatus (2) for providing sensory stimulation to a subject, the apparatus (2) comprising a housing (4) , the housing (4) being freely moveable across a surface; a plurality of sensory stimulation means disposed within the housing (4) and adapted for providing sensory stimulation to the environment surrounding the housing (4) , the sensory stimulation means providing stimulation for one or more of the senses of touch, sight, smell or sound; wherein the apparatus (2) is self contained. The sensory stimulation means may be electrical or non-electrical. The apparatus (2) preferably comprises a power storage and delivery device, such as a battery. The housing (4) is preferably arranged without sharp edges or protrusions, in order to avoid harming disturbed subjects.

Il comprend un boîtier (4) pouvant être déplacé librement sur une surface et une pluralité de stimulateurs sensoriels à l~intérieur, conçus pour déclencher une stimulation sensorielle au voisinage du boîtier (4), l~appareil (2) étant autonome et les stimulateurs sensoriels stimulant un ou plusieurs des sens du toucher, de la vue, de l~odorat ou de l~ouïe. Les stimulateurs sensoriels peuvent être électriques ou non. L~appareil (2) comprend de préférence un dispositif de stockage et de distribution de courant électrique telle une batterie. Le boîtier (4) est de préférence conçu sans arêtes tranchantes ni protubérances afin d~éviter de blesser le sujet stimulé.
