The present invention relates to novel anhydrous or water-in-oil synthetic ester compositions which are used in formulating dermatological products having uniform structure ranging in consistency from a soft gel to a hard stick. The compositions comprise a new component, di-behenyl fumaric acid ester, which has a melting point of approximately 72-74 °C. The di-behenyl fumaric acid ester component has exceptional benefits when used in combination with any cosmetically acceptable oil in varying ratios, to produce homogeneous materials having a uniform structure. The di-behenyl fumaric acid ester according to the present invention may be used to harden or stiffen any cosmetically acceptable oil or water-in-oil emulsions and can be used to create compositions varying widely in viscosity and/or hardness from gels to solid systems such as sticks or to enhance the stability of water-in-oil emulsions. The compositions according to the present invention are particularly useful as additives in dermatological products, including cosmetic compositions and can accomodate components which vary widely in hydrophobicity of hydrophilicity.
Cette invention a trait à de nouvelles compositions à base d'ester synthétique, anhydres ou eau dans huile, utilisées dans la formulation de produits dermatologiques de structure uniforme et dont la consistance va du gel mou au bâton dur. Ces compositions renferment un nouveau composant, l'ester di-béhényl d'acide fumarique, dont le point de fusion est compris, approximativement entre 72 et 74 DEG C. Ce composant présente des avantages exceptionnels lorsqu'on l'associe à n'importe quelle huile acceptable du point de vue cosmétologique et selon différents rapports, pour produire des matières homogènes de structure uniforme. Il est possible d'utiliser cet ester di-béhényl d'acide fumarique pour durcir ou affermir n'importe quelle émulsion huile dans eau ou eau dans huile, acceptable du point de vue cosmétologique, ainsi que pour élaborer des compositions à viscosité et fermeté très diverses, des gels aux systèmes solides tels que des bâtons, ou encore pour renforcer la stabilité d'émulsions eau dans huile. Les compositions de cette invention, qui se révèlent particulièrement utiles comme additifs de produits dermatologiques, notamment de compositions cosmétologiques, sont susceptibles de renfermer des composants dont les propriétés hydrophobes et hydrophiles sont très variables.
