In a wireless communication system, a method of authenticating a mobile station is claimed. A first CHAP challenge message (528) is transmitted. A first CHAP response message is received in response to the first CHAP message. An IMSI message (548) corresponding to the received CHAP message is transmited. A plurality of parameters (552) is received in response to the transmitted IMSI message. At least one parameter (556) is then transmitted. A second CHAP response message (572) is received in response to the transmitted parameter. The second CHAP response message is then compared to one of said plurality of parameters (576).
Dans un système de communication radio, on utilise un procédé d'authentification d'une station mobile. Selon ce procédé, on envoie un premier message de défi CHAP (528) en réaction duquel est reçu un premier message de réponse CHAP. On envoie ensuite un message IMSI (548) correspondant au message CHAP reçu. En réponse au message IMSI est reçue une pluralité de paramètres (552). Au moins un de ces paramètres (556) est ensuite transmis en réponse duquel est reçu un second message de réponse CHAP (572). Ce second message est ensuite comparé à un paramètre de la pluralité de paramètres (576).
