A packaging material, which is capable of absorbing trace amounts of volatile odorous sulfur compounds particularly from food, is made from a structural support material which is preferably a polymer film, and a defined molecular sieve. The packaging material may be in the form of a film which forms at least one layer of a film package, or it may be in the form of a cap liner, or it may be in the form of an insert. Film materials may be oriented film or oriented shrink film. The molecular sieve may be defined either by its measured ability to adsorb hydrogen sulfide, or by certain physical and chemical structural parameters of the molecular sieve. These are pore-opening size, Si/A1 atomic ratio, pore-structure dimensionality, and basicity.
Cette invention concerne un matériau d'emballage qui est capable d'absorber des traces de composés sulfurés volatils et odorants, provenant notamment de produits alimentaires. Ce matériau d'emballage est composé d'un matériau de support structurel qui est de préférence un film polymère, et d'un tamis moléculaire défini. Ce matériau d'emballage peut se présenter sous forme d'un film qui constitue au moins une couche de l'emballage de type film, ou il peut avoir la forme d'une garniture de capsule ou celle d'une pièce rapportée. Les matériaux de type film peuvent être du type film orienté ou film rétractable. Le tamis moléculaire peut être défini soit par sa capacité mesurée à adsorber le sulfure d'hydrogène, soit par certains de ses paramètres structuraux physiques et chimiques. Ces derniers sont la grosseur des pores, le rapport atomique Si/Al, l'aspect dimensionnel de la structure des pores et la basicité.
