Polysulfones are manufactured by reacting a sulfuric acid or sulfur trioxide acid with a bireactive aromatic compound, using as a "promoter" a carboxylic acid anhydride, or equivalents thereof. The product polymers are useful as molding resins.

L'invention concerne des polysulfones obtenues par réaction d'un acide sulfurique ou d'un acide trioxyde de soufre avec un composé aromatique biréactif, utilisant comme "promoteur" un anhydride d'acide carboxylique, ou leurs équivalents. Les polymères ainsi obtenus sont utiles comme résines à mouler.
