A mobile telephone gateway and call routing device (MPG) (121) disclosed by the present invention is physically coupled with mobile phone (100) which is operative in accordance with first protocol, for adding communication capabilities through at least second communication network, possibly using a second protocol. A mobile communication system (150) is disclosed, comprising MPG (121) placed in-between mobile phone (100) and its battery (118) and Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card (117). MPG (121) connects to the SIM interface of mobile phone (100), using which it controls call management. It connects to the data/signaling interface of mobile phone (100), using which it communicates with it, while communicating with the second network using another communication means. It connects to the Terminal Adapter/Terminal Equipment (TA/TE) interface of mobile phone (100), thereby enabling communication with wireless data terminals. In the preferred embodiment, the present invention adds Bluetooth (T.M.) cordless telephony and private wireless networking capabilities to a standard mobile phone.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (121) de passerelle de téléphone mobile (MPG) et de routage d'appels, couplé physiquement à un téléphone mobile (100) fonctionnant selon un premier protocole en vue d'ajouter, par l'intermédiaire d'au moins un deuxième réseau de télécommunication, des fonctions de transmission, éventuellement au moyen d'un deuxième protocole. Le système (150) de télécommunication mobile décrit comprend une MPG (121), placée entre le téléphone mobile (100) et sa pile (118), et une carte (117) module d'identification d'abonné (SIM). La MPG (121) se branche : à l'interface SIM du téléphone mobile (100) pour gérer les appels ; à l'interface de données/signalisation du téléphone mobile (100) pour communiquer avec celle-ci, ainsi qu'avec le deuxième réseau à l'aide d'un autre système de transmission ; à l'interface adaptateur de terminal/équipement terminal (TA/TE) du téléphone mobile (100), pour permettre des communications avec des terminaux de données sans fil. Dans la forme de réalisation préférée, l'invention permet d'ajouter à un téléphone mobile standard des fonctions de téléphonie sans cordon Bluetooth (MD) et de réseau sans fil privé.
