Un crochet servant à éliminer la tension sur le raccord qui relie une conduite principale à un tuyau secondaire qui laisse passer la sève. On pourra ainsi raccrocher un conduit secondaire à un conduit principal sans avoir à couper de tuyaux et à ajouter des raccords ou des câbles. Le crochet étrangleur est inséré et déplacé librement sur le tuyau secondaire; le crochet est alors bloqué et accroché à un câble longeant la conduite principale , et le tuyau secondaire est sans tension entre l'étrangleur et le raccord.
