A method for removing sulphur oxides from flue gases of a boiler plant. In the method a calcium-containing sorbent is fed into a boiler, the sorbent reacting with sulphur oxides. Flue gases containing the dust-like reaction products and the unreacted sorbent is led into a separate reactor, where slurry is fed for removing the rest of the sulphur ox- ides. The reaction products formed in the reactor and the rest of the dust-like solids material is divided on the basis of size, whereafter water is mixed into the fraction containing coarser particles for forming slurry to be sprayed into the reactor.
