The invention provides an affinity filter for the binding of phage-displayed proteins to dissolved target molecules. The phage-displayed proteins are contacted with immobilized target in the presence and absence of dissolved target; the behavior of the phage-displayed proteins as a function of concentration of dissolved target permits approximation of the affinity of the phage-displayed protein for target. The invention also provides a method to screen large numbers of compounds for their ability to complete with a compound known to bind a phage-displayed protein.

L'invention concerne un filtre d'affinité permettant d'évaluer la liaison de protéines d'expression phagique avec des molécules cibles dissoutes. Les protéines d'expression phagique sont mises en contact avec une cible immobilisée, en présence et en l'absence d'une cible dissoute ; l'observation du comportement des protéines d'expression phagique en fonction de la concentration de la cible dissoute permet d'obtenir une approximation de l'affinité de la protéine d'expression phagique pour la cible.
