A method for the continuous wet stretching of industrial hides and other similar products comprises the following steps: a) removal of uniformly wetted hides following a treatment with liquids, such as tanning, retanning or the like, b) partial pre-drying of the wetted hides so as to reduce their residual relative moistness to a value of between 35% and 65%, c) stretching of the moist hides by means of localised mechanical stresses applied in directions which are substantially perpendicular to the plane of lie of the hides so as to achieve a predetermined increase in surface area, d) drying of the stretched hides until they have a residual relative moistness of between 7% and 30% so as to stabilise and thermally fix the stretched hides. During the wet stretching step, the hides are kept in substantially constant relative humidity conditions. The mechanical stresses are distributed over the entire surface area of the individual hides in a substantially uniform manner without any constraining in their peripheral zones so as to achieve substantially uniform radial stretching.
L'invention a trait à un procédé d'étirement de peaux industrielles humides ou d'autres produits similaires. Ledit procédé consiste à : a)retirer les peaux humidifiées de façon uniforme après un traitement utilisant des liquides, tel que le tannage, retannage ou analogues ; b) pré-sécher partiellement les peaux humides, afin de réduire leur humidité relative résiduelle à une valeur comprise entre 35 % et 65 % ; c) étirer les peaux humides au moyen de contraintes mécaniques localisées appliquées dans des directions sensiblement perpendiculaires au plan horizontal des peaux de façon à obtenir une augmentation prédéterminée d'une surface, d)sécher les peux étirées jusqu'à ce qu'elles présentent une humidité relative résiduelle comprise entre 7 % et 30 %, de façon à stabiliser et à fixer thermiquement les peaux étirées. Pendant l'étape d'étirement des peaux à l'état humide, ces dernières sont maintenues dans des conditions d'humidité relative sensiblement constantes. Les contraintes mécaniques sont réparties sur toute la surface de chaque peau de manière sensiblement uniforme, à l'exception des zones périphériques, de manière à obtenir un étirement radial sensiblement uniforme.
