Methods, compositions, and kits for repairing damaged myocardium and/or myocardial cells including the administration cytokines are disclosed and claimed. Figure 2 shows a photograph of a tissue section from a myocardial infarct (MI) induced mouse. Figure 2A-D show the area of MI INJECTED WITH Lin negative/c-kit positive cells from bone marrow (arrow) at different magnification, the remaining viable myocardium (VM), and the regenerating myocardium (arrowheads). Figure 2E shows a photograph of a tissue section of the area of MI injected with Lin negative/c-kit negative cells wherein only healing is apparent.
