The communications terminals (KE1, ..., KEn) are connected to the packet- oriented communications network (IP-KN) by a transfer unit (IP-HUB). The exchange (PBX) is connected to said packet-oriented communications network (PBX) by a connecting unit (AE). A data format consisting of substructural elements (SE) is established for transmitting data between the exchange (PBX) and the communications terminals (KE1, ..., KEn). In order to transmit data via the communications network (IP-KN), the data to be transmitted in the form of substructural elements (SE) are inserted into data packets (IP-P) at the sending end. The substructural elements (SE) are then extracted from these data packets (IP-P) at the receiving end.

Les terminaux de communication (KE1, ..., KEn) sont connectés au réseau de communication orienté paquets (IP-KN) par l'intermédiaire d'une unité de transfert (IP-HUB) et le central téléphonique (PBX) est relié audit réseau de communication orienté paquet (IP-KN) par l'intermédiaire d'une unité de raccordement (AE). Pour transmettre les données entre le central téléphonique (PBX) et les terminaux de communication (KE1, ..., KEn), il est prévu un format de données à base d'éléments sous-structuraux (SE).
