The invention concerns a method for adapting terminals for chip cards to enable them to present and execute operations for which they were not designed, which consists in equipping the chip cards (2) with a link memory (15) associated with a reading and translating programme (13) and in presenting data read in said memory (15) to the terminal (1) in a form which can be used by an interface programme (22). Thus, by modifying the card (2) link memory (25), applications executable by the terminal (1) can be added or removed.

Ainsi, en modifiant la mémoire de liens (15) de la carte (2), on peut ajouter ou retirer des applications exécutables par le terminal (1).
