The invention relates to a method and apparatus for detecting elution of a sample from a sample substrate (16) to incubation buffer (15) contained in a sample well (14) while the sample substrate (16) is still within the well (14). The method comprises measuring light (11) absorption of the contents of the sample well (14) at a predefined wavelength or wavelength range, and determining, based on the absorption measurement, the degree of elution of the sample. According to the invention, a wavelength or wavelength range is used which is absorbed by at least one elutable component of the sample but transmitted by the sample substrate (16). The invention provides a reliable way of determining the degree of elution of blood samples in neonatal sceening, for example.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour détecter une élution d'un échantillon à partir d'un substrat d'échantillon (16) vers un tampon d'incubation (15) contenu dans un puits d'échantillon (14) tandis que le substrat d'échantillon (16) est toujours à l'intérieur du puits (14). Le procédé consiste à mesurer une absorption de lumière (11) par le contenu du puits d'échantillon (14) à une longueur d'onde ou une plage de longueurs d'onde prédéfinie, et à déterminer, sur la base de la mesure d'absorption, le degré d'élution de l'échantillon.
