A process and apparatus for pumping a fluid mixture of a gas and a liquid and for separating said gas and liquid from each other, said apparatus having a fluid inlet (14) at one end (18) and at the opposite end (22) a pump housing (16) with a liquid outlet (23) and, between said inlet (14) and said pump housing (16), a hollow elongated gas separation part (30) of an essentially circular cross section with a generally central outlet (26) for separated gas. Said gas separation part (30) is provided by a hollow rotor (12) between said inlet (14) and said pump housing 116), the inner wail of said rotor (12) providing a large rotatable gas separation surface (32). The diameter of said rotor (12) increases at said opposite end (22) of the apparatus to form a larger diameter pumping zone (17) extending into said pump housing (16). Said rotor (12) is provided with a blade wheel (24) extending into said pump housing (16). The apparatus is especially well suited for the gas-free re-cycling of backwater drained through a forming fabric in a papermaking process. The invention is also applicable to the removal of air from fluid materials separated by flotation.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil pour pomper un mélange fluide d'un gaz et d'un liquide et pour séparer ce gaz et ce liquide l'un de l'autre. A cet effet, cet appareil comprend une entrée de fluide (14) à l'une (18) de ses extrémités et, à l'extrémité opposée (22), un carter de pompe (16) avec une sortie de liquide (28) et, entre cette entrée (14) et le carter de pompe (16), une pièce de séparation de gaz allongée et creuse (30) de section transversale essentiellement circulaire avec une sortie généralement centrale (26) pour le gaz séparé. La pièce de séparation de gaz (30) comporte un rotor creux (12) entre l'entrée (14) et le carter de pompe (16), la paroi interne dudit rotor (12) formant une grande surface de séparation de gaz rotative (32). Le diamètre du rotor (12) augmente au niveau de ladite extrémité opposée (22) de l'appareil, afin de former une zone de pompage de diamètre plus grand (17) s'étendant jusqu'à l'intérieur du carter de pompe (16). Le rotor (12) est pourvu d'une roue à aubes (24) s'étendant jusque dans le carter de pompe (16). Cet appareil est particulièrement approprié pour le recyclage sans gas de l'eau de refoulement évacuée par l'intermédiaire de la toile de formation dans une installation de fabrication du papier. Cette invention peut également s'appliquer à l'élimination de l'air contenu dans des matières fluides séparées par flottation.
