A bitumen emulsion comprising bituminous binder, emulsifier, and water. The bituminous binder comprises bitumen and an oxidised wax, and optionally one or more polymers. The incorporation of the oxidised wax into the bituminous binder provides modified bitumen with both a high softening point and a low enough viscosity to allow it to be emulsified. The emulsion may be used as a tack coat in applying a waterproofing layer to a roof base. The emulsion may be made using a static mixing emulsion process.
La présente invention concerne une émulsion bitumineuse comprenant un liant bitumineux, un émulsifiant et de l'eau. Le liant bitumineux comprend du bitume et une cire oxydée, et, facultativement, un ou plusieurs polymères. L'incorporation de la cire oxydée dans le liant bitumineux permet d'obtenir un bitume modifié présentant à la fois un point de ramollissement élevé et une viscosité suffisamment faible pour permettre l'émulsification. L'émulsion peut être utilisée comme couche d'accrochage lors de l'application d'une couche hydrofuge sur la base d'un toit. L'émulsion peut être fabriquée selon un procédé émulsionnant par mélange statique.
