PRECLOSED CARDBOARD SLIDE MOUNT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cardboard slide mount includes a base, a cover and a pocket between the base and the cover. The base and cover, which include aligned film windows, form opposing first and second rectangular frames for a film transparency, with the pocket forming a nest for the film transparency. Outer corners of the base are radiused. Opposing inner surfaces of the base and cover are bonded together about three sides so that a fourth side defined an insertionopening. The insertion opening allows the film transparency to be inserted into the film nest. A chamfered outer corner of the cover exposes a radiused corner of the base, which permits an opening assembly to separate the base from the cover along the fourth side and thereby allow a film transparency to pass through the insertion opening and into the film nest. A first adhesive region thereafter connects the opposing inner surfaces of the base and cover along thefourth side. A second adhesive region in the film nest secures one edge of the film transparency so as to maintain an alignment of the film transparency and the film windows.
