In a machine used to refurbish roads, having a driver's cab for one operator, an automotive running gear with two axles and a working roller that is mounted to pivot relative to the machine frame and that is enclosed in a hood which defines a working chamber, and having a drive motor with the necessary output to drive the working roller and to power the vehicle's travel, the invention provides that a drive unit containing the working motor is mounted in a pivoting frame and forms a unit that can be pivoted relative to the machine frame, that the working roller is also mounted in the pivotable unit and, together with the latter, can be pivoted relative to the hood, which has a fixed mounting to the machine frame, and that the working roller is directly weighted by the unit, virtually the entire machine weight being concentrated between the running gear axles and transferred to the pivotable unit.

L'invention concerne un engin utilisé pour rénover des routes, comprenant une cabine destinée à un opérateur, une unité de roulement automotrice à deux essieux (4) et un rouleau de travail (8) qui est monté de façon à pivoter par rapport au châssis de l'engin et qui est enfermé dans un capot (7) qui définit une chambre de travail. Ledit engin comporte également un moteur d'entraînement (9) qui fournit la puissance nécessaire pour entraîner le rouleau de travail (8) et pour faire avancer l'engin. Selon l'invention, une unité d'entraînement contenant le moteur de travail (9) est montée dans un châssis pivotant (13) et constitue une unité (2) que l'on peut faire pivoter par rapport au châssis (1) de l'engin; le rouleau de travail (8) est également monté dans l'unité (2) que l'on peut faire pivoter, et peut, avec cette dernière (2), pivoter par rapport au capot (7), lequel est monté fixe sur le châssis (1) de l'engin; et le rouleau de travail (8) est directement chargé par l'unité (2), presque tout le poids de l'engin étant concentré entre les essieux (4) de l'unité de roulement et transféré à l'unité (2) pouvant pivoter.
