An ink transfer type printer employs an ink holding member constituted by a porous body which contains ink therein and a film member made of a shape-memory resin which covers the porous body. The film member is provided with a plurality of through-holes. A film deforming member compresses the film member to collapse the through-holes and cools down the film member to the temperature lower than a glass transition temperature. A first heating member heats the selected parts of the deformed film member to the temperature higher than the glass transition temperature so as to restore the shape of the respective through-holes of the selected parts, and ink is transferred onto the recording sheet via the through-holes of the selected parts. Thereafter, a second heating member heats the overall parts of the deformed film member to the temperature higher than the glass transition temperature so as to totally restore the shape of the film member.
Une imprimante à transfert d'encre emploie un élément porteur d'encre constitué d'un corps poreux qui contient de l'encre et un élément pellicule fait d'une résine à mémoire de forme qui couvre le corps poreux. L'élément pellicule comporte une pluralité de trous traversants. Un élément déformant la pellicule comprime l'élément pellicule pour écraser les trous traversants et refroidit l'élément pellicule à la température inférieure à la température de transition vitreuse. Un premier élément chauffant chauffe les parties choisies de l'élément pellicule déformé à la température inférieure à la température de transition vitreuse de façon à redonner leur forme aux trous traversants respectifs des pièces choisies, et de l'encre est transférée sur la feuille d'écriture par les trous traversants des parties choisies. Par la suite, un deuxième élément chauffant chauffe l'ensemble des parties de l'élément déformant la pellicule à la température supérieure à la température de transition vitreuse de façon à redonner complètement sa forme à l'élément pellicule.
