A sealing device for increasing the stiffness of the seal is disclosed. It comprises a clamping portion configured to be rigidly coupled to a body of a fluid control device, and a flexible portion extending from the clamping portion and having a curved sealing surface configured to seal against a movable flow control member associated with the fluid control device, wherein the flexible portion is configured to have a first stiffness in a first flow direction and a second stiffness in a second flow direction.
