A printed packaging material and a method for making the same is described. On a primary surface of a thermoplastic flexible packaging material is disposed a printed image. That image includes two primary components. The first is at least one marking containing a pigment. The second is a pigment-free coating which overlies the outermost marking. The coating is made from materials which can polymerize and/or crosslink when exposed to ionizing radiation. After the film is exposed to such radiation, the coating hardens to form a protective layer over the printed markings.
Cette invention concerne un matériau d'emballage et son procédé de fabrication. Sur la surface primaire d'un matériau d'emballage thermoplastique souple, on dépose une image imprimée faite de deux composantes primaires. La première de ces composantes est constituée par au moins une marque renfermant un pigment, la deuxième par un revêtement sans pigment recouvrant la marque externe. Le revêtement est réalisé dans des matériaux pouvant être polymérisés ou réticulés lorsqu'ils sont exposés à un rayonnement ionisant. Après exposition au rayonnement ionisant, le revêtement se durcit et forme une couche protectrice sur les marques imprimées.
