A method and system is described to improve the reproduction of sound of an acoustic musical instrument. According to one embodiment, a first microphone is placed at a proximate location to the musical instrument to pick up the sound of the musical instrument. The sound as picked up by the first microphone is compared to a reference sound of the instrument (e.g., the sound of the instrument as perceived at a normal listening position). Based on this comparison, a tailor-made equalizer is designed to compensate for the differences between the sounds as picked up by the first microphone and the reference sounds of the musical instrument. Accordingly, using the tailor-made equalizer allows the reproduction of sound from the first microphone to have a quality similar to that of the reference sound of the musical instrument. In an implementation of the above system, a filter arrangement is provided having a low-pass and a high-pass filter that allows separate control of the frequency and/or gain for each filter.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système visant à améliorer la reproduction du son d'un instrument de musique acoustique. Selon un premier mode de réalisation, on place un premier microphone à proximité de l'instrument de musique de façon à capter le son de l'instrument de musique. Le son capté par le premier microphone est comparé à un son de référence de l'instrument tel que le son de l'instrument tel qu'il est perçu en position d'écoute normale. En partant de cette comparaison, on conçoit un égaliseur fait sur mesure de façon à corriger les différences entre les sons captés par le premier microphone et les sons de référence de l'instrument de musique. De la sorte, l'utilisation de l'égaliseur fait sur mesure permet une reproduction du son depuis le premier microphone avec une qualité similaire à celle du son de référence de l'instrument de musique. Selon un mode de réalisation du système de l'invention, on dispose d'un dispositif de filtres en passe-bas et passe-haut de façon à séparer la commande en fréquence et/ou en gain de chaque filtre.
