An orthosis (or stretching tissue around a joint between first and second pivotable body portions The orthosis in-cludes a first arm affixabl.beta. to the first body portion including a first extension member extending therefrom A second arm affixable to the second body portion including a second extension member having an arcuate shape extending therefrom A third arm includ-ing a third extension member having an arcuate shape extending therefrom is between the first and second arm members The third extension member is slidably connected to the first arm and the second extension member is operatively connected to the third arm such that the second arm travels along an arcuate path defined by the second extension member when the second arm is moved from a first position to a second position relative to the first and third arms The position of the third arm can be secured relative the first arm.
La présente invention concerne une orthèse servant à étirer du tissu autour d'un joint d'un patient entre une première partie de corps relativement pivotante et une seconde partie de corps relativement pivotante. L'orthèse comporte un premier élément de bras fixable sur la première partie de corps et comportant un premier élément d'extension s'étendant depuis celui-ci. Un deuxième élément de bras fixable sur la deuxième partie est également inclus et a un deuxième élément d'extension ayant une forme arquée s'étendant depuis celui-ci. Un troisième élément de bras comportant un troisième élément d'extension ayant une forme arquée s'étendant depuis celui-ci est interposé entre le premier élément de bras et le deuxième élément de bras. Le troisième élément d'extension est relié de façon coulissante au premier élément de bras et le deuxième élément de bras est relié de façon opérationnelle aux troisièmes éléments de bras, de telle sorte que les deuxièmes éléments de bras s'étendent le long d'une trajectoire arquée définie par le deuxième élément de d'extension lorsque le deuxième élément de bras est déplacé depuis une première position vers une deuxième position par rapport au première élément de bras et au troisième élément de bras. De plus, la position du troisième élément de bras peut être solidement réglée par rapport au premier élément de bras.
