The invention relates to an inertization method for reducing the risk of fire in an enclosed area (10) and to a device for carrying out said method. The aim of the invention is to provide an inertization system for an enclosed area (10), by means of which an effective reduction of the risk of fire can be obtained as a result of a permanent inertization of the protection area (10) and by means of which said preventive fire-protection achieved by the permanent inertization can be restricted, if necessary, to spatially separate zones of the enclosed area, without requiring structural partitions. To achieve this, at least one inert gas, the gas density (.rho. Gas) of which differs from the mean gas density (.rho. Gas) of the ambient air atmosphere of the area (10) is introduced into the enclosed area (10) in such a way that in said area (10) gas layering of the first gas layer (A) and a second gas layer (B) occurs, the oxygen content of the first gas layer (A) corresponding substantially to the oxygen content of the ambient air atmosphere and the oxygen content of the second gas layer (B) corresponding to a specific establishable oxygen content that is reduced in relation to the oxygen content of the ambient air atmosphere.
La présente invention concerne un procédé d'inertisation pour réduire le risque d'un début d'incendie dans une pièce fermée (10) ainsi qu'un dispositif pour exécuter le procédé. L'objectif de l'invention est de fournir un système d'inertisation pour une pièce fermée (10) qui permette, d'une part, une réduction effective du risque d'un début d'incendie au moyen d'une inertisation permanente de la pièce protégée (10) et, d'autre part, de limiter cette protection anti-incendie préventive agissant avec l'inertisation permanente, si nécessaire, à des zones séparées dans l'espace de la pièce fermée, sans que des séparations matérielles ne soient nécessaires pour cela. A cette fin, au moins un gaz inerte, dont la densité gazeuse (pgaz) est différente de la densité gazeuse moyenne (mgaz) de l'atmosphère de la pièce (10), est introduit dans la pièce fermée (10) de manière telle qu'il se forme dans la pièce fermée (10) une disposition de couches de gaz composée d'une première couche de gaz (A) et d'une seconde couche de gaz (B), la teneur en oxygène dans la première couche de gaz (A) correspondant essentiellement à la teneur en oxygène de l'atmosphère de la pièce, et la teneur en oxygène dans la seconde couche de gaz (B) correspondant à une certaine teneur en oxygène réglable et réduite par rapport à la teneur en oxygène de l'atmosphère de la pièce.
